Light frost is forecast across much of Latvia overnight into Wednesday and in the morning, so some road sections may ice over. Daytime highs will range from +3 to +11 degrees.
Light frost is expected in many parts of Latvia overnight into Wednesday and during Wednesday morning, so icing may form on some road sections. Forecasters issued the outlook on 3 November, covering the next 24 hours or so.
Overnight forecast
Minimum air temperatures will range from -3 to +3 degrees Celsius, while in places along the coast it will stay as high as +7. Cloud cover will mostly be light, although it will rain briefly in some places early in the night. A light northerly and northwesterly wind will blow. Early in the night it will be stronger on the coast, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second.
Wednesday daytime
Skies will cloud over in many areas during the day. Some light precipitation is expected in places, mainly in Vidzeme and starting from the northwest. The wind will be light, but in the evening westerly and northwesterly gusts of up to 14 metres per second are forecast on the coast. Maximum temperatures will range from +3 to +5 degrees in the east of the country to +11 on the coast.
Forecast for Riga
In Riga it will rain briefly early in the night, followed by sunshine in the morning and during the day. Clouds will build in the afternoon, and light rain is possible. The gusty northerly wind will give way to a light wind turning to the west. Morning minimum temperatures will range from -1 degree in parts of the Riga outskirts to +7 in Jūrmala. In the afternoon and evening the air will warm to +8 to +9 degrees.
