Night Rescue Operations: Four Lost Kayakers Saved in Valka Municipality
On Saturday night, four people who got lost while rafting on a river in Valka municipality were rescued. The State Fire and Rescue Service conducted the operation, which lasted until 1:30 AM.

Rescue in Zvārtava Parish
Late Saturday evening, around 10:30 PM, the State Fire and Rescue Service received a call from Zvārtava Parish in Valka Municipality. Four individuals traveling by boat on a river had lost their way and could not reach the shore on their own. Rescuers located them, brought them to land, and handed them over to the Emergency Medical Service. The operation concluded around 1:30 AM.
Other Water Incidents
The same day saw multiple water-related emergencies. In Engure Parish, Tukums Municipality, a person was rescued from the sea after drifting too far from shore on a wakeboard and being unable to return. Volunteers from Engure also assisted.
In Ādaži Municipality, strong winds blew a boat with two people far from shore on a lake. Firefighters brought them back to land.
