Videos circulated on social media showing sounds of drones and explosions, particularly in Engels. The videos also showed flashes in the sky. According to preliminary information, the attack targeted the Engels airbase.
This is not the first attack on the Engels airbase. Drones have repeatedly targeted military facilities in Engels, Saratov region. Last March, a fire broke out at the Engels military airfield after a drone attack, confirmed by Governor Roman Busargin.
