Namibia at the Threshold of a New Economic Era
Recent oil and gas discoveries off Namibia's coast could more than double the country's GDP by 2040.

According to Edgars Voļskis, Namibia is currently at the beginning of a new economic era that could significantly change its role and place on international trade maps. In recent years, approximately 11 billion barrels of light oil and 2.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas have been discovered off Namibia's coast. If these reserves are fully developed commercially, they could more than double Namibia's gross domestic product by 2040. These discoveries indicate tremendous potential that could transform Namibia's economy and make it a significant energy player in the region.
