Ilmar Parts to lead Narva development foundation through end of 2026
The council of the Narva development foundation SA Narva Linna Arendus has appointed Ilmar Parts as board member, replacing Sergei Gorlach, who was dismissed days earlier. Parts will hold the post until December 31, 2026.

On Tuesday, August 25, the council of the Narva development foundation SA Narva Linna Arendus appointed Ilmar Parts as the organization's leader and board member. He replaces Sergei Gorlach, who was dismissed from the position a few days earlier.
The council confirmed Parts as board member until December 31, 2026. Before his current term ends, the council will hold an open competition to select a board member for the following period, said Narva Linna Arendus council chairman Urbo Vaarmann.
The council chose Parts based on his experience in business and finance, as well as his long-standing ties to Narva.
According to Parts, the main areas of work have already been discussed with the council, and he is ready to begin implementing them immediately. Particular attention will go to developing the Äkkeküla sports center — the goal is to use the existing building as efficiently as possible, continue preparations for the next stage of development, and craft a marketing strategy to raise Äkkeküla's profile across Estonia.
On Friday, August 21, the Narva Linna Arendus council removed Sergei Gorlach from his position; he had led the foundation since the end of December last year. Gorlach himself considers his dismissal unjustified and does not rule out challenging the council's decision, saying he is currently consulting with a lawyer.
