Head of Narva Port Anatoly Ivanov announces resignation
Anatoly Ivanov, board member of the Narva municipal port authority, submitted his resignation on September 15 without disclosing a reason. The move follows several high-profile departures from Narva municipal institutions after a change of city leadership.
Anatoly Ivanov, a board member of the municipal target institution Narva Sadam (Narva Port), has submitted a letter of resignation from his position. The experienced ship pilot and sailing sport enthusiast confirmed to the outlet "Severnoye Poberezhye" that he filed the resignation on September 15.
Ivanov declined to disclose the reason behind the decision, saying only that he did not wish to comment and that it was simply his own choice.
He had served as a board member of Narva Sadam since September 2022, and his term had been extended for another three years in 2025.
Changes following the shift in Narva's leadership
As previously reported, the new city leadership in Narva reshuffled the boards of municipal institutions in early August. Dmitry Dyakov, Alexander Nesterenko and Anton Pratkunas were recalled from the Narva Sadam board. They were replaced by city council members from the Centre Party faction, Oleg Eselyunas and Igor Andreyev, as well as Dmitry Andreyev, who had previously served for a time as a council member from "Plan B."
Since the change of power in Narva, several notable resignations have already taken place at municipal institutions. Officials appointed under the previous coalition have lost their posts, including Narva Linnaelamu head Alexander Pakhomov, Narva Linna Arendus head Sergei Gorlach, and Narva Language Lyceum director Svetlana Raudonen.
