Narva Deputy Mayor Karpikov names flood problem among his top priorities

Narva Deputy Mayor Oleg Karpikov, responding to a request from city council members Denis Larchenko and Tatyana Stolfat, has outlined his work priorities, naming six key tasks for the near future.

Among the main priorities, the deputy mayor highlighted solving the flooding problem at the roundabout on Keres Street, as well as work to prevent flooding of garden plots in Kudruküla.

Karpikov also considers it important to restore the operation of the football hall, resume direct communication with apartment associations, maintain order in the urban environment, and speed up the design and construction of a new heating main in Narva, which should reduce heating costs for residents.

Discussing his previous experience working at the city government, the deputy mayor noted that one of the main lessons for him was the importance of the city's ongoing engagement with apartment associations. According to him, after the change of city leadership in December 2024, residents of several buildings on Viru Street - 11, 13, 15 and 17 - stopped feeling the city's support and withdrew from the housing renovation project.

As his main achievements, Karpikov named the introduction of an electronic auction system for selling municipal property, the establishment of a centralized district heating zone in Narva, and the complete renovation of two buildings on Kooli põik street. He does not consider any of the projects he has overseen to be a failure.
