NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said on Saturday that the alliance has prepared extensive plans for responding to any potential escalation on its eastern flank. He made the statement at a press conference following the NATO Military Committee meeting held in Copenhagen.

According to the admiral, NATO's plans for the eastern flank now total roughly 4,000 pages. The documents are specifically designed to guide the alliance's defense and response in the event that tensions in the region were to escalate.

The NATO Military Committee meeting in Copenhagen brought together the alliance's top military leadership to discuss security matters affecting member states, including those located closer to Russia that are considered part of the eastern flank.

The disclosure of such detailed planning suggests NATO continues to strengthen its readiness for potential security threats along the alliance's eastern borders.
