Money dispute in UK ends in death of Latvian citizen, Latvian woman among accused
A UK court hearing has revealed that a late-August 2025 altercation in Gravesend, which left Latvian citizen Vladimirs Perminovs dead, stemmed from a dispute over money. A Latvian woman is among those detained.

A conflict broke out on a dark side street in Gravesend, United Kingdom, late one evening in August 2025, with fatal consequences for Latvian citizen Vladimirs Perminovs.
By the time police arrived at the scene, everyone involved in the altercation had already dispersed. Perminovs was on his way to hospital at the time, but his injuries proved too severe — he died in hospital.
Arrests and court proceedings
Following the incident, UK law enforcement detained several suspects. Among them is a Latvian woman.
The case reached court in September 2026, and proceedings revealed that the underlying cause of the conflict was a dispute over money. Further details about how exactly the dispute arose, and what role each of the detained individuals played, are not yet known.
The case has drawn attention to the fact that Latvian citizens living abroad can find themselves in dangerous situations with tragic consequences. Court proceedings are ongoing, and a verdict is still awaited.
