Nauris Kļaviņš takes 8th place at World Running Target Championship

Latvian shooter Nauris Kļaviņš finished eighth in the junior category at the World Running Target Championship in Tallinn, scoring 344 points, the best result among Latvian participants.

Nauris Kļaviņš secured eighth place in the junior category at the ongoing World Running Target Championship in Tallinn. Among 18 competitors, he scored 344 points, the highest result for any Latvian athlete in this event.

In the individual men's competition, Agnis Dombrovics placed 26th with 332 points (out of 29 participants). Dāvis Zaube scored 312 points for 28th place, and Jānis Tams finished 29th with 308 points. In the team standings, the Latvian squad – Dombrovics, Zaube, and Tams – ranked seventh with 952 points. In the women's event, Aina Smiltiņa scored 280 points, finishing 18th.

On July 22, the championship continued with the 10-meter running target event. In the junior category, Nauris Kļaviņš scored 516 points, placing 11th, missing the semifinals by 34 points. In the men's category, Dāvis Zaube scored 522 points (260+262) for 25th, Agnis Dombrovics scored 510 points for 27th, and Jānis Tams scored 488 points for 29th. The Latvian team posted 1520 points for seventh place. In the women's event, Aina Smiltiņa scored 446 points, finishing 18th.

The championship in Tallinn runs until July 26, with Latvian shooters set to compete in other running target disciplines.
