Child dies, three others critical after stabbing attack in Australia's Blue Mountains
A child died and two other children and a woman remain in critical condition after a stabbing attack in a vehicle in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia. Police say they are not currently searching for anyone else in connection with the incident.
A child has died and three other people are in critical condition following a stabbing attack in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, Australia, on Sunday.
New South Wales police said emergency services were called after reports of three children and a woman found with stab wounds inside a vehicle on Waratah Road in Valley Heights.
According to police, several members of the public administered first aid to the woman and the three children while calling emergency services. One of the children was found dead inside the vehicle.
Victims taken to hospital
NSW Ambulance treated the two surviving children, believed to be under five years old, and the woman, believed to be in her 40s, at the scene before transporting them to Westmead Hospital, where all three are currently listed in critical condition.
A crime scene has been established at the location. Police stated they are not currently searching for any other individuals in relation to the incident.
Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information, or mobile phone or dashcam footage from the scene, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
