Independent tool RemoveMacAI lets users strip Apple Intelligence from Macs
Some Mac users do not want Apple's artificial intelligence features, and independent developers have built a tool called RemoveMacAI that disables the system and deletes its models. Tech site Kursors.lv says Apple may have to offer such an option officially.
Independent developers have created a tool called RemoveMacAI that fully disables Apple Intelligence and deletes the downloaded artificial intelligence models from Mac computers. Apple Intelligence is the set of AI features from the US technology company Apple, and rolling it out has been one of the company's main priorities in recent years. Even so, some users still categorically reject such features on their devices.
From dissatisfaction to a new tool
That dissatisfaction has prompted independent developers to build solutions that let users switch the AI system off on their own computers. RemoveMacAI is one such example. The tool is designed not only to turn the features off but also to remove AI models that have already been downloaded to the device.
An official removal option
The headline of the Latvian technology site Kursors.lv says Apple may have to offer an official way to remove Apple Intelligence from Macs. For now, such a solution is provided by independent developers rather than by the company itself.
The source also says the latest Apple Intelligence models can take up a significant amount of space on a computer; the exact figure is not available in the published excerpt.
