Latvia's week to start calmly, with cyclones bringing rain and wind later
At the start of the first week of November, an anticyclone will dominate the weather in Latvia, but in the second half of the week cyclones will bring more precipitation and stronger wind. Fog is expected in places at night, and on Wednesday temperatures may fall below zero in the east.

At the start of the first week of November, an anticyclone will still shape the weather in Latvia, so conditions will be fairly calm, with light wind and frequent fog. Forecasts indicate that the anticyclone's influence will gradually fade in the second half of the week, and cyclones will play a growing role, bringing more cloud, precipitation and stronger wind.
Monday and Tuesday
On Monday the sky will be cloudy, with clearer spells in places and some rain and drizzle. Fog will thicken in some areas at night and in places persist into the morning. Night temperatures will fall to +1…+6 degrees, while daytime highs will reach +5…+10 degrees.
On Tuesday a precipitation zone will cross Latvia from the northwest. Rain is expected at night in the west and in Vidzeme, and during the day in Latgale as well. Fog will form at night and in the morning. From the second half of the night, a light to moderate northerly wind will set in along the coast. Night minimums will be +3…+8 degrees, approaching 0 in some eastern and central areas. Daytime temperatures will reach +6…+11 degrees, a couple of degrees cooler in the east.
Wednesday and the end of the week
On Wednesday, light rain is expected in places in central and eastern Latvia. The wind will be light to moderate, northwesterly and northerly, gradually turning westerly in the afternoon. Night temperatures will be similar to the previous night, but in places in the east they will drop a couple of degrees below zero. Daytime highs will be +5…+10 degrees, and only +3…+5 degrees in the east.
Towards the end of the week the wind will strengthen and may be gusty at times along the coast. Light rain is expected in places, and the temperature trend will remain broadly unchanged.
