Rainy weekend expected, but drier weather may follow next week in Latvia
Forecasters say cyclones will keep bringing rain and thunderstorms to Latvia in the coming days, while an anticyclone could bring drier conditions next week.

Weather in Latvia this week continues to be shaped by cyclonic activity, meteorologists report. Over the next 24 hours, periods of rain will alternate with sunny spells, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms possible in some areas, along with brief spells of stronger wind.
On Saturday, a cyclone moving in from the south is expected to bring heavy rain across a wide area. However, its exact path remains uncertain — forecasters note the heaviest rainfall could end up affecting Belarus rather than Latvia.
Temperatures and the outlook for next week
In the latter half of this week, nighttime temperatures will range from +9 to +16 degrees, while daytime highs will average +17 to +23 degrees. No sharp temperature swings are expected next week, though conditions may turn drier as an anticyclone potentially takes hold.
According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, average air temperatures in Latvia next week are expected to remain one to two degrees below the seasonal norm, similar to this week, while rainfall could be lower than typical for late August.
In September, however, both temperature and precipitation levels are forecast to move closer to long-term averages.
