Weekend to bring rain and gusty winds, but next week starts sunny and dry
Latvia will see cloudy, rainy and windy weather on Friday and Saturday, but from Sunday an anticyclone will approach, bringing dry, sunny conditions and temperatures up to +20°C in the first half of next week.
Unsettled weather is expected across Latvia this weekend. On Friday, September 25, skies will be cloudy with intermittent rain across most of the country. Overnight, a slow to moderate northwest to west wind will blow, reaching gusts of 15–18 meters per second along the coast, while during the day the wind will shift toward west and southwest. Nighttime temperatures will range from +9 to +14°C, with daytime readings about one degree higher.
Clouds and fog persist Saturday
Saturday will remain cloudy, with rain expected across most of the territory overnight, though daytime precipitation will be limited to central and eastern regions. Fog may form in some areas during the second half of the night and in the morning. Winds will be slow from the south, with slow to moderate west-southwest winds along the coast gusting up to 14 meters per second. Overnight temperatures will stay between +9 and +14°C, rising to +11 to +16°C during the day.
Winds ease Sunday as an anticyclone approaches
Sunday will bring variable cloudiness with light rain in many areas, but winds will gradually weaken and turn calm during the day. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +9–14°C, while daytime highs will climb to +15–18°C. According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, an anticyclone will approach Latvia in the first half of next week, bringing dry and sunny weather. Temperatures will rise further than in previous days, reaching up to +20°C in places, with winds remaining light.
