Cooler Weather with Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Latvia This Weekend
Starting Sunday, Latvia will turn cooler; the weekend will bring rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds, while next week temperatures will not exceed +20°C.

After several warm and mostly dry days, the weather in Latvia will change this weekend. Friday will still be warm, but on Saturday the influence of a cyclone will intensify and a precipitation zone will cross the country. The south wind will pick up, with gusts reaching up to 15 meters per second, and rain will occur in many areas, with heavy showers and thunderstorms expected in western and central regions. On Saturday night, brief rain is forecast in some western areas, and during the day the precipitation zone will start moving across Latvia from the west. Overnight lows will be +15…+20°C, while Saturday daytime temperatures will reach +24…+29°C, maintaining the heat. On Sunday, the maximum temperature will drop to +18…+23°C. At the beginning of next week, a new cyclone will form with its center near Latvia's border, bringing occasional rain, locally prolonged and heavy. Days will become cooler, with temperatures rising only to about +20°C. A north wind will prevail, moderate and occasionally gusty in coastal areas.
