After a rainy weekend, warmer weather returns to Latvia with highs up to +22°C

Meteorologists forecast rain and thunderstorms in Latvia over the first weekend of September, followed by drier and warmer conditions at the start of next week, with temperatures rising to +22°C.

Latvia's first Saturday of September is expected to bring heavy rain and thunderstorms in places, according to weather forecasters. On Sunday, precipitation is set to ease and sunshine will become more frequent.

Nighttime temperatures will range between +8 and +15 degrees, while daytime highs will stay within +15 to +19 degrees. Winds from the west and north are expected, with gusts reaching 12–17 meters per second in places.

Improvement expected early next week

After the rainy weekend, conditions are set to improve — on Monday and Tuesday rain will only occur locally and briefly, winds will weaken, and daytime temperatures will climb to between +17 and +22 degrees.

Later in the week, forecasters expect slightly cooler weather with occasional rain, though no frost is anticipated during this period.

According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, air temperatures in Latvia are expected to remain close to seasonal norms over the coming weeks, while precipitation is likely to exceed typical September levels.
