Weather set to shift in Latvia this weekend as rain returns
Forecasters say Latvia will see rain arrive on Saturday after a warm, dry stretch, with heavier showers possible in parts of the country next week.

Meteorologists say weather conditions in Latvia are about to change. Until Saturday, August 29, midday, no precipitation is expected, with sunny spells likely, though fog may appear in some areas overnight and in the morning, accompanied by light winds.
Already in the coming nights, from Wednesday to Thursday and Thursday to Friday, air temperatures will drop below +10 degrees in many places. Daytime highs will still reach +19 to +24 degrees.
Changes expected over the weekend
On Saturday, southerly and southeasterly winds will strengthen, with gusts of 11-16 meters per second, and a band of rain will move across the country from the southwest. Before the rain arrives, temperatures will still climb to +20-23 degrees. Similar temperatures are expected on Sunday, when brief rain is also possible.
More rain expected next week
Forecasters note that next week will bring heavier rain at times, with the largest amounts expected in Kurzeme and western Vidzeme. After a warm start to the week, temperatures will cool down.
According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, air temperatures in Latvia in September are expected to be close to normal, possibly slightly above it, while rainfall this September could be higher than usual.
