Latvia's Weekend to End With Grey and Windy Weather

The week in Latvia will end with grey and windy weather, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the state body that produces weather forecasts. The forecast applies to Sunday, 25 October.

Rain and temperature

During the day, rain is expected mainly in eastern areas. In the evening, a band of precipitation will approach from the west, so rain is also expected in Kurzeme, the western region of Latvia. Clouds will break up in places. The daytime high will be between +10 and +13 degrees.

Wind

The wind will be moderate to fairly strong, blowing from the southeast and south. From midday it will become gusty in western and central areas, and along the coast gusts may reach 20 metres per second.

In Riga

In the capital, Sunday will be grey, but no precipitation is expected. A light to moderate southeasterly and southerly wind will bring gusts of up to 15 metres per second in the afternoon. The air will warm to +10 to +12 degrees.

Conditions at the end of the weekend will therefore not be especially pleasant for time outdoors, particularly in the western part of the country and along the coast, where the wind will be strongest.
