Three People Drown in Latvia Over the Weekend
The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) recovered three bodies from water bodies over the weekend – two on Sunday and one on Saturday.

Three people have drowned in Latvia over the weekend, according to the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD). On Sunday, rescuers retrieved two deceased individuals – one from a lake in Vecpiebalga parish, Cēsis County, and another from a pond in Lendži parish, Rēzekne County. On Saturday, VUGD personnel recovered a lifeless person from a river in Jūrmala. The rescue service urges the public to exercise caution near water and to follow safety rules, especially during hot weather when water activities become more frequent.
