Rain and thunderstorms expected this weekend, mild weather with showers on Knowledge Day
Latvia will see dry weather on Friday, but rain is forecast across most of the country over the weekend, with thunderstorms in some areas. Early next week, as Knowledge Day arrives, temperatures will be mild but rain is still likely in many places.

Friday will bring partly cloudy but dry conditions across Latvia. Winds will be light, allowing fog to form overnight in some regions. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +8 to +11°C across most of the country, while the coast will stay warmer, at +12 to +15°C. During the day, sunshine will warm the air to +19 to +23°C.
Rain forecast for the weekend
Saturday will start with little cloud cover, but skies will gradually cloud over from the west as the day progresses. Rain will first reach Kurzeme, spreading to the central part of the country by evening, with a chance of thunderstorms in some areas. Rainy conditions are expected to continue on Sunday across most of Latvia's territory.
Regarding wind, Saturday night will bring light to moderate southeasterly to easterly winds, turning gusty during the day. On Sunday, the wind will shift to the south and generally weaken. Nighttime temperatures will mostly range from +10 to +15°C, while daytime highs will not exceed +18 to +23°C.
Mild but rainy start to next week
Looking ahead, meteorologists forecast moderately warm weather for early next week, when Knowledge Day is celebrated. However, rain is still expected in many parts of the country.
