A fire severely damaged the office, warehouse, and logistics center of the charity "Tavi Draugi" in Riga over the weekend. The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received an alarm shortly after 3 AM on Sunday. The blaze engulfed a single-story hangar-type building covering 250 square meters. Thirteen firefighters with four tankers extinguished the fire, with operations lasting approximately three hours. No injuries were reported.

"Tavi Draugi" provides humanitarian aid to Ukrainian residents in Latvia and Ukraine, coordinating volunteer involvement from Latvian individuals and companies. Before the full-scale invasion, the organization supported struggling families in Latvia, but since the war began, it has focused on aid to Ukraine, including assisting refugees at border points. Thanks to donations, the charity has delivered over 12 million euros worth of aid to Ukraine since the war's start.

The organization will hold a press conference on Friday to provide further details about the incident and its aftermath.
