Warm weather holds through the weekend, then cyclones bring change next week
Forecasters say Latvia will see relatively warm, dry weather this weekend, but incoming cyclones will bring stronger wind and rain next week, with October overall expected to run warmer than usual.

Meteorologists are tracking a shift in Latvia's weather over the coming days. This Saturday and Sunday will bring variable cloud cover with no significant precipitation expected. Fog may form in places during the night and morning hours, while winds will stay light to moderate, blowing from the west or southwest.
The coldest night is expected from Friday into Saturday, when temperatures in eastern regions could drop to +2 degrees. During the day, though, conditions will remain fairly warm, with highs reaching +15 to +20 degrees. Sunday night is expected to be slightly warmer, while Sunday's daytime temperature will be cooler than Saturday's.
Change arrives next week
As next week begins, cyclones will move into Latvia, bringing more pronounced changes. Winds will strengthen, and rain is expected in many areas, occasionally falling more heavily for short periods. On Monday, temperatures won't exceed +12 to +16 degrees, but Tuesday will be one to two degrees warmer.
Forecasters note that the second half of the week will bring even more precipitation, and the following weekend could be the coolest Latvia has seen since spring.
October expected to run warmer than average
According to data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, October in Latvia is expected to be roughly two degrees warmer than usual overall. However, total precipitation for the month could still come close to the long-term norm, despite the windy, rainy spell forecast for early next week.
