Weather to Turn Rainier and Windier in Second Half of Week
After a dry midweek, Latvia will experience increasing rain and wind from Friday, with a cyclone bringing rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds over the weekend.

According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the weather will become more dynamic in the second half of the week. Wednesday and Thursday will remain dry with light to moderate northerly winds. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +13…+18°C, while daytime highs will reach +23…+28°C, slightly cooler on the coast.
On Friday, light rain is expected in western and central regions. Fog may form in Kurzeme at night and in the morning. Overnight lows will be similar to previous nights, with daytime temperatures reaching +21…+26°C.
Over the weekend, a cyclone will approach Latvia, lowering atmospheric pressure. Skies will become cloudy, and rain will fall in many areas. Winds will strengthen, with gusts on the coast reaching 15-16 m/s on Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely as cumulonimbus clouds develop. Saturday will still see highs of +20…+25°C, but a cooler air mass will arrive on Sunday, dropping temperatures by a few degrees.
Early next week, daytime maximum temperatures will only rise to +15…+19°C, and nights may dip to around +10°C in some places. Rain is expected across most of the country, and coastal winds will remain gusty.
