According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, an anticyclone will dominate on Monday and Tuesday, August 3 and 4. Skies will be partly cloudy but dry, with light winds. Mist may form locally during the night and early morning, reducing visibility. Nighttime temperatures will stay between +10 and +15 degrees, while daytime readings will reach +22…+27 degrees across most of the country, and +19…+23 degrees in coastal areas.

On Wednesday, conditions will remain mostly dry and sunny during the day, but cloud cover will increase in western regions by the afternoon. Rain is expected in many places, and isolated thunderstorms are possible. Winds will stay light. Overnight lows will be +11…+16 degrees, except along the Kurzeme coast where temperatures will not fall below +18 degrees. During the day, sunshine will push temperatures to +25…+29 degrees, and +21…+25 degrees in coastal zones.

In the second half of the week, clouds will become more frequent and rain will spread across parts of the country. Many places will see rain by the night before Thursday. Thursday is still expected to be hot, with temperatures reaching +24…+29 degrees almost nationwide. From Friday, a cooler air mass will begin to flow into Latvia, so weekend temperatures will be limited to +17…+22 degrees.
