Rain expected across Latvia mid-week, with possible thunderstorms
Meteorologists forecast rain across most of Latvia on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures gradually rising toward the weekend. Isolated thunderstorms and strong gusts are also possible.

According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, Thursday, September 10, will bring mostly cloudy skies with only occasional clear spells. Rain is expected across most of the country overnight, spreading nationwide during the day. Eastern regions will see more prolonged rainfall, with local thunderstorms and heavy downpours also possible. Winds will be light to moderate from the south and southwest, shifting to southwest and west along the coast during the day, with gusts reaching up to 15 meters per second. Air temperatures will stay between +13 and +17 degrees throughout the day and night.
Friday brings more changeable weather
Friday night will start cloudy, though clearing is expected in many areas, while daytime cloud cover will decrease. Overnight and in the morning, short spells of rain are forecast in many places, with isolated thunderstorms and heavy rain showers also possible overnight. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest and west, shifting to west and northwest along the coast at night, where gusts may reach 15 to 18 meters per second. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +9 to +14 degrees, while daytime highs will reach +16 to +19 degrees.
Changes expected over the weekend
On Saturday, variable cloudiness is expected, bringing light rain mainly to western and central regions. Winds will remain light to moderate from the west and southwest. Nighttime temperatures will range from +7 to +11 degrees, slightly warmer along the coast at +11 to +15 degrees, while daytime temperatures will reach +16 to +19 degrees. On Sunday and into early next week, precipitation will increase, with rain expected in many areas. Winds will stay light to moderate, and daytime temperatures will hold between +15 and +19 degrees.
