A powerful storm hit Latgale on Sunday evening, causing significant damage to two recreational sites – the 'Rāznas koki' rope course and the Svilpaunieki net park in Lūznava. Gusts of wind felled and broke trees within ten minutes, damaging the course. No injuries occurred because the instructor, aware of the weather forecast, did not allow new visitors onto the course shortly before the storm.

Currently, the owners of 'Rāznas koki' are still assessing the extent of the damage. They plan to contact insurance companies on Monday. A charity event for restoration is being considered, but the owners predict that the complex will not reopen this summer. 'Rāznas koki' offers a rope course, climbing wall, water bomb activities in Lake Rāzna, and other services.

The storm also affected the Svilpaunieki net park in Lūznava, which is closed indefinitely. The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre issued an orange-level warning for Sunday for eastern and southeastern Latvia, effective until late Sunday evening.
