It was reported on Friday that the number of people missing following floods in Nepal and a mudslide in China's Tibet region has exceeded 2,400. At the same time, the confirmed death toll from the two disasters has climbed to at least 586.

The two natural disasters — flooding in Nepal and a mudslide in Tibet — occurred around the same time, and rescue and search services are still assessing their consequences. The exact circumstances, as well as the breakdown of missing and dead between the two countries, have not yet been disclosed.

Rescue operations continue in both regions as crews search for those still unaccounted for, with the rising figures indicating that the full scale of the destruction has not yet been established.
