Two more Australians found safe after Nepal-Tibet floods
Two Australians previously unreachable after the devastating Nepal-Tibet floods have been confirmed safe, bringing the number still missing down to 36, as the disaster's death toll passes 1,200 with about 5,500 still unaccounted for.
Australian authorities have confirmed that two more citizens who were previously uncontactable following the catastrophic floods in Nepal and Tibet have now been found safe. Neither requires consular assistance, officials said.
The development reduces the number of Australians still listed as missing in the disaster to 36.
A 15-member Australian disaster assistance response team is due to arrive in Kathmandu later on Friday, followed on Saturday morning by seven Australian Federal Police disaster victim identification specialists, who will assist with identifying those who died.

The floods across Nepal and Tibet have caused widespread devastation, with more than 1,200 deaths confirmed so far and roughly 5,500 people still reported missing. Search and identification efforts in the region are ongoing.
