Nigella Lawson joins The Great British Bake Off as new judge
Tonight's UK TV schedule features cookery writer Nigella Lawson making her debut as a Bake Off judge, alongside the final episodes of several long-running series.
Tonight's British television lineup is headlined by The Great British Bake Off (8pm, Channel 4), where cookery writer Nigella Lawson takes her seat as a judge for the first time. Her use of a single word is enough to visibly rattle host Noel Fielding. The bakers' first task is a chocolate stout cake, with one contestant choosing to put a twist on Nigella's own recipe, followed by recreating a coffee and walnut cake from a photograph and then a self-portrait cake showstopper.

BBC Two airs the final episode of sand-sculpting competition Race Against the Tide, in which contestants Rachel and Athena race against the incoming tide while Yusuf and Johannes's ambitious concept is threatened by the North Sea. BBC Two also broadcasts what is, for now, the last episode of Emergency 24/7, following an NHS trauma team.
On ITV1, the long-running documentary series Up reaches its final instalment, 70 Up, in which participants Sue, Bruce, Jackie, Suzy, Peter, John and Andrew reflect on their lives and mortality.
U&W airs two back-to-back episodes of Paul C Brunson: Red Flag, telling the stories of people who experienced abusive relationships, while Channel 4 continues its survival series Tempting Fortune at 9.30pm, following 12 strangers competing in the Malaysian rainforest for a share of £300,000.
