Nissan PIXO: a new compact electric car for city driving

Nissan has introduced a new model, the PIXO — a compact electric car built specifically for city conditions. Measuring 3.796 metres in length and 1.790 metres in width, the car is easy to maneuver on narrow streets and in tight parking spaces, while still comfortably seating up to four adults. The rear seats slide, allowing the cargo space to be expanded when needed; standard boot capacity is 356 litres. There is also an additional 18-litre storage compartment for smaller items and a separate 50-litre space for the charging cable.

Range and charging

On a single charge, the PIXO can travel up to 259 kilometres. All versions of the model come standard with 50 kW DC fast charging, which can take the battery from 15% to 80% in around 28 minutes. An 11 kW AC charging option is also available for convenient charging at home or at work. Notably, the PIXO is the first Nissan model in Europe to feature a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.

Driving characteristics and technology

The car is powered by a 60 kW electric motor that delivers quick response in city traffic, while a 9.9-metre turning circle makes it easier to turn in tight spaces. Driving comfort is enhanced by the One-Pedal feature, which allows the driver to accelerate, slow down and stop mainly using just the accelerator pedal.

Inside, the PIXO features a 7-inch digital instrument display and a 10-inch touchscreen, along with Google built-in with Gemini for voice control. A Face ID function recognizes the driver and automatically loads their preferred settings, while the MyNissan app lets users remotely monitor charging and other vehicle functions. Safety is further supported by adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, a lane departure warning system, and a wireless parking assistant.
