From August 1, Tallinn Public Transport Routes to Change
Changes to Tallinn's public transport network will take effect on August 1, affecting over twenty routes and improving travel in many city districts.

Starting August 1, Tallinn will implement changes to its public transport route network, aiming to speed up traffic and create new travel options in many areas. By the end of July and during August, over 500 bus stops will get updated timetables, and more than 500 signs with stop names and route lists will be replaced. The most up-to-date information on routes, stops, and schedules can be found at transport.tallinn.ee.
The changes affect routes No. 1, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 21A, 24, 41, 49, 57, and 72, as well as new or reorganized directions on routes No. 37, 48, and 65. Additional adjustments are made to routes No. 24A, 29, 31, 31A, and 44, which were not part of the original proposals but were added based on feedback and network refinement.
Specific district changes:
- Towards Viimsi and Laagri (routes 1 and 14): a faster, unified trunk line has been created, retaining stops "Nurme" and "Raba".
- In Lasnamäe, route 13 becomes straighter, still serving the Ülemiste area and providing a convenient transfer to the airport at the new "Ülemiste" stop, which opens on August 1 with the resumption of tram service. Routes 2 and 15 are adjusted due to the tram restoration.
- With the restoration of route 65, route 31A is moved back from Tähesaju Street to Laagna tee. Tähesaju Street will continue to be served by route 31.
- Between Lasnamäe and Pirita (route 48): the route is changed to Randvere tee instead of Kloostrimetsa tee. Route 49 adds stop "Kaasiku" in both directions.
- In Nõmme (route 57): focus on improving access to schools and kindergartens in the Raku and Raudalu microdistricts.
- In Kadaka and Mustamäe (routes 24, 20, 19, 23): the network is reorganized – line 24A appears to serve Mäepealse, and route 23, at residents' request, retains its previous route on Raja Street. Route 20A is renumbered to 19.
- In Kakumäe (routes 21, 41, 37): the network is simplified, with a new direct connection between Kakumäe and Mustamäe. The city segment of route 41 remains unchanged. Route 21A is renumbered to 22.
- Between Mustamäe and Kopli (route 72): improved transport to the university and gymnasiums – this change received the most positive feedback.
- Route 29 is replaced by line 31A, extended to the Iru nursing home. The number of departures on Hoolekodu tee is increased.
- Based on feedback from Lahekald residents, route 44 is extended to the Lahekald quarter, with a new bus stop near the roundabout on Paekalda Street.
