From Abyssinians to Kurilian Bobtails: Best Purebred Cats Selected in Tallinn
An international cat show in Tallinn featured various breeds from Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, and Latvia. Visitors saw titled champions and rare breeds like Kurilian Bobtails.

An international cat exhibition took place in Tallinn, showcasing a variety of tailed pets from numerous breeds. The event included Ragdolls, Sacred Birmans, British Shorthairs, and Abyssinians.
Marko Poogen, owner of an Abyssinian cat named Hermes, described his pet as having a wild gaze and being very elegant, walking around the house like a lion. Owners of purebred cats from neighboring countries—Finland, Lithuania, and Latvia—also came to Tallinn to present their fluffy companions. Ingrida Lasinska from Riga brought her Persian cat Ichigo, who was born in Estonia at the Heinroos cattery. She noted that Ichigo is highly titled and they travel frequently to exhibitions.
Most of the cats had a very important demeanor, which was understandable since many had won at various shows worldwide. Victoria Kosheleva, owner of the Vielerto cattery, introduced her cat Hector, a world winner, national winner, and junior winner. Hector is a European Burmese with attractive bright eyes, a silky coat, and a calm temperament.
Participating in such events is hard work for owners—grooming and preparation require significant time and effort. Olga Komissarova, a member of the international cat club Felix, presented her Persian kitten Gucci Guilty, born in late August and just nine months old, competing in the junior class. The kitten has a harlequin color and a soft baby coat, requiring washing with three shampoos before each show and brushing once a week.
Special attention was drawn to Kurilian Bobtails with their short tails, which they happily showed off. Natalia Stankevich, owner of the Reval Dream cattery, emphasized that this is one of the rarest and most amazing breeds because it is natural—the cats are born with such tails, and they are not docked.
