In a criminal case where the State Police detained four individuals suspected of prolonged sexual acts with animals and filming those acts, the confiscated horses have found new owners. Out of the 11 horses taken to a secure location in the Liepāja region, 10 have been sold. According to the caregiver who has been looking after the horses, the animals are doing well. One of the ponies was purchased by the caregivers themselves.

The police investigation revealed that at least since 2021, a livestock facility in Latvia had been hosting pornographic performances involving sexual acts with various animals, which were also filmed and photographed. During a search, all animals linked to the offenses were seized, along with more than 4,000 euros obtained from the criminal activities.

Among the detained individuals are two Latvian citizens, one person holding Danish and Swiss citizenship, and one Russian citizen. All suspects have been released under non-custodial measures. The investigation is ongoing.
