Today, June 20, marks the start of candidate list submission for the upcoming Saeima elections. Parties can submit their lists until July 5 at the Central Election Commission (CEC) in person at Smilšu iela 4, Riga, or remotely via the CEC application. After acceptance, the submitted lists will be available on the CEC website.

Each candidate list must include an election program not exceeding 10,000 characters. The security deposit for a list is €4,680, which allows submitting lists under the same name in all five electoral districts. The deposit is refundable if the list receives at least 2% of valid votes; otherwise, it goes to the state budget.

There are five electoral districts: Riga (up to 43 candidates), Vidzeme (up to 31), Latgale (up to 17), Zemgale (up to 18), and Kurzeme (up to 16). A total of 100 deputies will be elected, with seats distributed proportionally based on voter numbers per district. Voters abroad are counted in the Riga district.

Candidates must be Latvian citizens at least 21 years old on election day. Lists can be submitted by registered parties that were founded at least one year before the election and have at least 500 members. For alliances, the combined membership must be at least 500.

On the first day, June 20 at 10 AM, the National Alliance "All for Latvia! – For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK" will submit its list in person. Other parties that have announced submission include "Austošā Saule Latvijai", "Stabilitātei!", "PROGRESĪVIE", "Saskaņas Centrs", "Gobzema saraksts", and "APVIENOTAIS SARAKSTS – Latvijas Zaļā partija, Latvijas Reģionu Apvienība, Liepājas partija". Additional parties preparing lists include the Union of Greens and Farmers, JKP, "LATVIJA PIRMAJĀ VIETĀ", New Unity, "Mēs mainām noteikumus", and "Latvijas attīstībai".

The 15th Saeima elections will be held on October 3.
