80% of votes counted: Union of Greens and Farmers hovers on the edge of missing Saeima seats as Unified List heads for sweeping win
With 80% of ballots counted in the 15th Saeima election, the Unified List holds a commanding lead, while the Union of Greens and Farmers is barely clearing the 5% threshold needed to enter parliament.

Data from the Central Election Commission show that after 80% of votes were tallied in Latvia's 15th Saeima election, a clear frontrunner has emerged: the Unified List, which has secured 36% of the vote, far ahead of its rivals.
In second place is "Latvia First" with 13.3%, followed by "Sovereign Power / New Latvians" at 10.9%. The National Alliance has gathered 9.4% support, the Progressives 6.6%, and New Unity 6%.
Greens and Farmers on the brink
The tightest race is for the Union of Greens and Farmers, which at 5.2% is currently only just above the mandatory 5% threshold required to enter the Saeima. Should this figure hold through the final count, the party could expect to win around 6 seats in parliament.
Other lists below the threshold
Several lists remain below the 5% barrier after 80% of votes were counted. These include "We Change the Rules" at 3.6%, "For Latvia's Development" at 2.1%, "For Stability!" at 2%, "Rising Sun for Latvia" at 1.4%, the Gobzems list at 1%, Harmony Centre at 0.9%, and the New Conservative Party at 0.3%.
Preliminary seat distribution
Based on current results, the Unified List could receive 38 seats, a substantial lead over all other parties. "Latvia First" and "Sovereign Power" could each secure 15 seats, the National Alliance 10, the Progressives 9, New Unity 7, and the Union of Greens and Farmers 6 seats.
Vote counting continues, and final results may differ from the preliminary figures.
