Filming wraps on short film «Velta» starring director and teacher Pēteris Krilovs

Five days of filming have wrapped on director Daniil Silov's newest short feature film «Velta». Director and teacher Pēteris Krilovs was cast in the leading role.

The story

The film centers on 75-year-old Aldis, who tries to hide early signs of dementia from his family during his birthday celebration. However, an innocent question from his granddaughter about his late wife pulls him into a whirlwind of memories, where the boundaries between the past and the present gradually blur.

The filmmakers describe the story as a personal and emotional look at aging and memory loss, using the events of a single birthday as a framework for a broader story about family relationships and the passage of time.

The filming stage of the project has now been completed, and the production is moving on to post-production work.
