Theatre festival «Teātris tuvplānā» wraps up with its fourth and final day

The theatre festival «Teātris tuvplānā» has come to a close after its fourth and final day, an experience organisers and attendees described as feeling like a marathon. Over the course of four days, festival-goers were able to see six different stage productions.

Just as central to the festival as the performances themselves were the conversations that followed them. After each show, audiences and creators gathered for discussions about what they had just seen. These exchanges did not stay confined to the theatre hall — talk about the productions carried on into breakfasts and cafés, blurring the line between the festival's formal programme and everyday life.

The four days were also marked by extreme weather, ranging from a powerful storm to heat that reached 32 degrees Celsius. Beyond the performances, participants' experiences touched on unexpected elements, including a spa visit, as well as heavier themes such as the end of the world and reflections on death. Punk rock also featured among the moods evoked during the festival.

Taken together, the four days offered audiences both a range of artistic works to engage with and an ongoing conversation about the nature of theatre itself — including the question of where theatre truly begins: on stage, in post-show discussions, or in the everyday moments that quietly merge with art.
