Nothing CEO Says Mystery AI-First Device Will Launch in December
Carl Pei, CEO of smartphone maker Nothing, says the company's first AI-native product ships in December. What the device actually is remains unclear.

Nothing, the smartphone startup known for its distinctive Nothing Phone, will release its first "AI-native product" in December, according to CEO Carl Pei. He announced the timing on Wednesday, November 4, in a post on X. The details of the product are still unknown, which matters because the company has so far been best known for smartphones.
Pei described it as a tool built with the personality and care that have come to define a Nothing product. He wrote that it has no new screen and could not have been an app. He also called it a "productivity tool." Taken together, the description suggests a screenless device that is not an app but uses AI, as the reporting notes.
What is known about the company's plans
Pei has teased an AI-first device for some time. Nothing has also said previously that it plans to release AI-linked smart glasses, as well as earbuds with AI integrations.
At the same time, Pei appears to distance the new product from AI wearables. He wrote that the whole industry is hunting for its iPhone moment, whether a pendant, a pin, glasses, a companion or some other magical consumer device that makes AI part of everyone's life. He said he admires the boldness but reads the moment differently.
No firm release date has been announced, but fans of the brand should learn more soon.
