Nicholas Rossi, a 38-year-old man convicted of raping two girlfriends in 2008, who later fled to Scotland and faked his own death, has died in Utah, according to prosecutors.

Rossi was convicted in 2008 for raping two separate girlfriends. After his conviction, he fled to Scotland in an attempt to evade law enforcement. He also allegedly faked his own death to avoid capture.

In 2021, a vigilant nurse treating Rossi for Covid-19 recognized him from a wanted poster. This identification led to his arrest and eventual extradition back to the United States. Recently, authorities announced that Rossi had died in Utah, though further details about the circumstances of his death have not been released.

The case has garnered significant media attention due to the elaborate nature of his flight and faked death.
