Nous Research Raises $90M at $1.5B Valuation and Launches AI Agents for Businesses
Nous Research, the developer of the open-source Hermes agent, has closed a $90 million Series B round. The startup is launching "Hermes for Businesses" for enterprise customers.

Nous Research, the startup behind the open-source Hermes AI agent, has confirmed a $90 million Series B funding round that values the company at $1.5 billion. The announcement confirms earlier reporting by TechCrunch.
The round was led by Robot Ventures. Other participants included Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung and 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. is a partner. The new money lifts the three-year-old company's total funding to $158 million.

The Hermes agent is widely used by developers and individuals. According to the company's own estimates, it has been cloned more than 24 million times and accounts for roughly 2.5% of global AI token usage.
Move into the enterprise market
The fresh capital will support Nous Research's expansion into the business sector through a product called "Hermes for Businesses". It will let companies deploy customized AI agents capable of handling multi-step workflows while keeping their data private and secure.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Nous reached about $36 million in annualized revenue by mid-September 2026 and expects to surpass $100 million before the end of the year.
