NVA Invites Latvians Abroad to Online Seminar on Returning to Latvia

The State Employment Agency (NVA) continues its support for Latvian nationals living abroad who are contemplating a return to their homeland. On July 23 at 4:00 PM, a free online seminar titled "I Want to Return to Latvia! Where to Start?" will be held on the MS Teams platform. This is the third of four planned seminars this year aimed at assisting repatriates.

During the seminar, EURES (European Employment Services) labor mobility consultants from the NVA will provide information on the formalities that need to be completed before leaving the host country and after arriving in Latvia. Participants will also learn about the current labor market situation in Latvia, employment opportunities, and the services offered by the NVA and EURES.

The event is designed for individuals who are planning to return themselves, as well as for those who wish to help family members or acquaintances with the repatriation process. Prior electronic registration is required. The seminar will last one hour and requires a computer or smartphone with an internet connection. Headphones with a microphone and a webcam are optional; questions can be asked via the platform's chat.

The NVA emphasizes that obtaining timely information about the labor market, organizing documents, and understanding the necessary steps before and after relocation can help avoid complications during the repatriation process. Interested parties can also register for the final seminar of the year, scheduled for October 22 at 4:00 PM. These activities are carried out within the framework of the European Social Fund Plus project "EURES Network Activities in Latvia."
