O'Sullivan knocked out of Shanghai Masters by Wilson
Seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan lost 6-4 to defending champion Kyren Wilson in the second round of the Shanghai Masters.
In a thrilling encounter at the Shanghai Masters, seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan was eliminated in the second round by Kyren Wilson, the reigning champion. Wilson took an early lead with breaks of 113 and 91 to go 3-1 up. O'Sullivan then produced three consecutive centuries (100, 111, and 131) to move ahead 4-3. However, Wilson responded by winning the next three frames with breaks of 89, 79, and 97, securing a 6-4 victory. He will face Mark Williams in the quarter-finals after Williams defeated Chris Wakelin 6-5. Wilson commented: "It is always great playing in Shanghai and somebody of the class of Ronnie O'Sullivan. You know the crowd are going to come out in their numbers when he is playing. It inspires me and makes me want to play snooker. I have my kids with me and I wanted to show them how amazing snooker is out here. I hope they enjoyed that one."
