Aubameyang's goal helps Deportivo secure first La Liga win since 2018
Deportivo A Coruna beat Valencia 3-1 at home to claim their first top-flight win since 2018, while Athletic Bilbao celebrated their first victory of the season.
In round three of Spain's top football division, Deportivo A Coruna defeated Valencia 3-1 at home, securing their first win in the top flight since 2018.
The hosts took the lead as early as the 13th minute when, following a corner, Valencia defender Cesar Tarrega accidentally turned the ball into his own net. Shortly after, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the advantage, dribbling past two defenders before lifting the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Before halftime, Valencia pulled one back when Umar Sadiq intercepted a pass and scored in the 26th minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1. In the second half, the hosts extended their lead again in the 59th minute, when Mouctar Diakhaby, attempting to block a pass into the box, inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net, making it 3-1.
In stoppage time, Deportivo defender Adria Altimira was shown a second yellow card and sent off for holding back an opponent.
With the win, the A Coruna club climbed to seventh place in the standings and remains unbeaten this season. Valencia, meanwhile, are still without a win this campaign.

Athletic Bilbao also celebrated their first victory of the season in round three, beating Celta Vigo 2-0 away, with both goals scored in the middle of the first half. At the top of the table, Real Madrid continue to lead with a perfect record after thrashing Malaga 4-0.
