School maintenance worker dies suddenly at Ogre Kalna primary school

The Ogre municipality has reported a tragic incident at Ogre Kalna primary school. On Monday morning, a technical worker was found without vital signs on the school premises. Resuscitation was started immediately and an emergency medical team was called; nevertheless, the man's life could not be saved.

According to the municipality's Facebook statement, the employee had been hired only five days earlier as a replacement for another worker who was on sick leave. His duties included gardening and janitorial work. He arrived at work in the morning and began his tasks, but was later found unresponsive after a rest break.

Based on currently available information, the man died during his rest period, and the incident is not considered related to the performance of work duties or violations of occupational safety requirements. In line with legal procedures, the Ogre municipality has informed the State Labour Inspectorate about the case.

The municipality expressed its deepest condolences to the man's family, colleagues and everyone affected by the tragedy.
