The State Police are investigating several crimes that occurred in the Ogre region in mid-June. On June 15, a resident of Lielvārde fell victim to fraud: scammers phoned and tricked the person into revealing their personal details and “Smart ID” access information, leading to a loss of more than €2,220.
The following day, June 16, a shot deer was found in a meadow near a property in Tīnūži Parish. As red deer hunting is currently not officially allowed, the incident is being treated as illegal hunting.
On June 17, in the same parish, a Ford Mondeo was stopped on the Tīnūži–Koknese road (P80) at the 4th kilometer. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, exceeding the legal limit. Police continue their investigations into all three cases.
