Prepayment system at Ogres Hospital reduces patient no-shows
The introduction of prepayment for paid outpatient services at Ogres Regional Hospital has led to a significant decrease in the number of patients missing their appointments, according to the first three months of results.

Ogres Regional Hospital has reported a noticeable reduction in patient no-shows after implementing a prepayment system for paid outpatient services. The hospital analyzed the first three months of data and shared the findings on the LSM.lv program "Let's Discuss in the Evening." Under the new policy, patients must pay in advance for paid outpatient visits. The measure was introduced to address the issue of patients failing to attend appointments without prior notice, which wastes doctors' time and resources. Hospital data shows that the number of no-shows has dropped significantly, indicating the system's effectiveness. The hospital plans to continue the prepayment practice. These results could serve as a model for other healthcare facilities in Latvia.
