In his article “Ukrainians in Montenegro: It’s Not the Time to Let Down Your Guard,” Oleksii Zarichanskyi describes his visit to the Ukrainian Center in Budva. There he met volunteer and Ukrainian artist Vira Volkova and her colleagues. The conversation took place in the center’s small but cozy room in the city center. According to the author, Volkova asked: “Oleksii, do you know what are the most popular sayings in Montenegro for all occasions?” Through this question, the author emphasizes that Ukrainians currently in Montenegro should not relax. Although they are away from the war front, the war continues and requires vigilance and support from every Ukrainian, including those living abroad. The Ukrainian Center in Budva is not only a meeting place for volunteers but also a symbol that Ukrainians around the world continue to fight for their country. Zarichanskyi points out that despite the relative safety in Montenegro, one must not forget that Ukrainian soldiers on the front are fighting for freedom. Therefore, Ukrainians in exile must continue to provide support and be aware that the war is not over.
