Opel launches new entry-level Combo Start van from €22,400

Opel is broadening its commercial vehicle range with a new, more affordable variant called the Combo Start, aimed at businesses and fleet managers who prioritize cost efficiency without sacrificing practicality.

Equipment and powertrain options

The base version comes with a 110-horsepower petrol engine, a foldable FlexiSeat passenger seat, an adjustable driver's seat, and a Connect Box system featuring an emergency call function and a smartphone holder that doubles as a navigation and entertainment display.

Diesel and fully electric versions are also available. The electric variant, Combo Start Electric, is equipped with a 42 kWh battery and a 100 kW (136 hp) motor, delivering up to 270 kilometers of range on a single charge under the WLTP standard.

Cargo space and configuration options

The van features several thoughtful solutions for maximizing cargo and cabin space. Folding down the standard FlexiSeat passenger seat increases cargo capacity by 0.5 cubic meters, creating extra room for tools or parcels. An optional foldable ModuTable is available, which can serve as a laptop work surface or a dining table, alongside a FlexCargo configuration that adds a third seat and allows for transporting longer items. Additional storage compartments and a drawer under the driver's seat round out the practical features.

Visually, the Combo Start stands out with a redesigned front end and a more pronounced bumper, emphasizing its rugged character. The model is offered in two body lengths, with cargo volume reaching up to 4.4 cubic meters and payload capacity approaching one tonne. Starting in 2027, the lineup is set to be expanded with a 48-volt hybrid version.

In Germany, the Combo Start will be available to order from October, with prices starting at €22,400 excluding VAT — one thousand euros less than the entry model of the previous generation.
