Ostapenko holds 32nd spot in WTA rankings, Semeņistaja slips to 124th
In the latest WTA rankings, Latvia's top player Aļona Ostapenko has retained her 32nd position, while Darja Semeņistaja dropped from 122nd to 124th place.
The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has released its updated world rankings following the latest week of tournaments. Latvia's leading player Aļona Ostapenko has held on to her previous 32nd position, while the country's second-ranked player, Darja Semeņistaja, slipped from 122nd to 124th place.
Two notable women's tournaments took place last week. In Seoul, a "WTA 250" event was held, where Ostapenko's run ended in the round of 16. Meanwhile, the more prestigious "WTA 500" tournament took place in Singapore, where Canada's Leylah Fernandez claimed the title.
Ostapenko currently holds 1,481 ranking points, while Semeņistaja has 619 points. Notably, Latvia's top female tennis player has remained inside the world's top 100 continuously for more than 11 years - since September 21, 2015 - a streak now totaling 575 consecutive weeks.
Alongside the singles rankings, doubles standings are also tracked. In this season's doubles rankings, Ostapenko, paired with Taiwan's Hsieh Su-wei, sits in eighth place, putting the duo in contention for a spot at the WTA's season-ending finals tournament.
Other Latvian players also feature in the world rankings: Beatrise Zeltiņa sits at 435th with 141 points, Anastasija Sevastova is 625th with 70 points, and Elza Tomase ranks 710th with 56 points. At the top of the rankings, Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina remains in first place, followed by Aryna Sabalenka, and Americans Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff.
